She is quietly anchored here tied stern to the mangroves in Boca Grande, Florida. This spot is a small lagoon where everyone we knew said we could never get her in there with her six and a half foot draft. But here she is in one of our all time favorite hide-aways. Contact us:

Ocean Angel was built at the Beneteau factory in France in December 1985 and was originally delivered to a Canadian owner in 1986. The history and development of the First 42 is an amazing success story as the boat was designed as a flush-deck racer built to win the Admiral's Cup series races. The racer-cruiser version came out shortly after the Fastnet success story. Joy and I believe we are the third owners of this beautiful ocean going vessel. We found her in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, traced her history, and discovered she was owned by the developers of the "Spartite" mast collar system and was once named "Spartite R&D". We bought her in 2001 and had her trucked to the Snead Island Boatworks in Palmetto, Florida, where she was commissioned for us. Her home port is now the Bradenton Yacht Club, Snead Island, Florida. We hope, as you read these pages, you too will come to admire our Ocean Angel, enjoy our travels, and begin to fulfill your own cruising dreams.
